It is much easier to find work if you are state registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC), particularly in the public sector. If you are not state registered, talk to one of our consultants who will advise you on how best to gain employment. Private hospitals and laboratories are often keen to attract laboratory personnel with multi-disciplinary skills. Locum assignments can be for days, weeks or months, but are usually no less than a month. Reed Health also provide permanent posts.
Phlebotomists
Usually associated with haematology departments, phlebotomists provide the essential blood sample collection service. This can be laboratory based or in out patients and some involve ward rounds. Experience is critical and a certificate of competence is usually required for non-state registered or other suitably qualified staff.
